Equipment Auction Yardman

Location: 28020 Boondock Ave. – Worthing, SD

General Job Overview:

Pifer's Auction & Realty - Sioux Falls (Worthing, SD) is seeking a self-driven, organized, forward-thinking, hard-working person with a background in ag/construction equipment and mechanics to join their growing company as an Equipment Auction Yardman.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Equipment Sales team, Yard Manager, and Office Manager to prepare for auctions 
• Provide excellent customer service to our clients and customers 
• Load/Unload trucks, equipment, and auction items pre/post auctions
• Move, carry, and organize various agricultural, construction, or personal property items
• Assist with photographing auction items and writing item descriptions
• Operate telehandler, loader, heavy machinery, and vehicles in the yard
• Use of auction software and Microsoft O365 suite
• On-site farm auction setup as needed
• Assist as needed with Pifer’s owned equipment and vehicle maintenance 
• Assist in post-auction activities (i.e. customer calls to coordinate equipment load-out)
• Other tasks as requested
   

Job Requirements:

• Experience operating farming/agricultural and heavy equipment 
• Background in mechanics a plus
• Clean driving record with a current/valid Driver’s License
• Basic computer skills are a must 
• Strong data analysis skills
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, and responsible
• Previous management or leadership experience (not required, but a plus)

*Hours can vary from auction to auction so flexibility to work late, or an occasional weekend is required. 

*This is a performance-based position that will include reviews & potential pay increase(s) at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year.
